Helpful Tips about Potty Training and Spanking

When it comes to potty training and spanking, many parents believe that these two should go hand in hand, while others aren’t too sure. When it comes to this issue, there is always the question of spanking being a good method for trying to potty train.

Surprisingly, spanking and potty training do not go hand in hand. In fact, this is the least effective way to get your child used to the potty. Many parents don’t realize that spanking could lead to serious physical problems when the time comes for children to use the bathroom.

Potty training can be a very frustrating time for the parent as well as the child. Don’t be alarmed or get upset if your child doesn’t adapt to the change quickly. This is a stage that will take some time to get used to. When you are at the stage of this training, this is the best time to stop bad habits before they get a chance to start.

As many parents are aware, children are not born knowing how to use the bathroom or eat for that fact of the matter. They are born living, healthy, and sometimes crying. The things they learn how to do and become familiar is up to the parents. Just as you become frustrated as a parent, your child gets frustrated as well. Getting them on a schedule will make things a lot easier.

When you discipline your child by spanking for not going to the toilet, you could be causing a lot more trouble than you realize. Very serious physical and medical issues can occur. By spanking, your child could very well associate using the bathroom with punishment and may start to hold their urine. Needless to say, this is a bad and serious habit that could cause bladder infections. This infection could lead to poor bladder control which could make the bladder become over-distended.

It is also important that you correct any bad habits. A lot of people don’t realize that spanking a child during this frustrating process does not eliminate or decrease the number of accidents that occur. It could also cause a child to hide their soiled clothes just to avoid any kind of punishment. When children are forced to go through this phase, the potty training process tends to take a lot longer. Many people believe that it’s a better idea to have a child go through the experience of being wet or dirty when they have an accident. One way to get a child to understand the essentials of potty training is to have them help you clean up the mess that they have made.

Potty training can become a serious task to conquer, but it can be done. It requires time and a lot of patience. Some children will get the hang of it sooner than others but don’t compare and don’t be alarmed. Some children take longer than others to grasp this little concept. Keep in mind that your child has to be ready in order for potty training to work.
