Catholic Baptism

Baptism is coined as a practice or ritual practiced by the Christians to make any event auspicious. It is not that this practice of baptism is only used during an event but it is also followed as a daily routine to keep evil spirits off from ones daily life. For this purpose a holy water which can be obtained from any Church is sprayed on house and also the members of the house in order to safeguard the family members from the evils prevailing in the world.

It is a way of spreading the blessings of god amongst its followers as it is impossible for him to reach and to each and every one of us. . In earlier times instead of immersing the whole body in the water, the individual was supposed to stand on the water and the water was to be poured on the upper part of the body. Some other forms of baptism that also exists include pouring of water on the forehead three times. By the use of water an individual is by his own interest adopting the membership of the Christian church. The act of baptism is basically washing away of one’s sins.

This practice of baptism is not a creation of human. It is often considered as a myth that the practice of baptism is a manifestation o some humans to attract them towards the holy church. But this is not true. This practice also prevailed in the before Christ time when the religion of Christianity originated. Also another proof for this act is that, this practice is mentioned even in the renowned book known as The Old Testament. At the start of the ‘Old Testament’, the very first section of the first renowned book of Genesis, it reveals us that Lord was floating over the waters of confusion and disorder. He produced something very un-imaginable that made real sense out of that disorder or chaos. It is also included in one of the book named Exodus; when the character Moses passed through the Red sea, it symbolized the conquest of the people and their faith through the waters of confusion and chaos.

Due to increasing acceptance of baptism especially amongst the Catholics all around the world its appearance in each and every moment of the people can easily be seen. Even during celebrations like a birthday celebration, an act of baptism ritual is followed in order to make that event auspicious. When celebrating a baptism party there are lots of things that a person needs to consider in order to making a party successful. Food, decor, baptism favors, the baptism cake and much more. In some places there is a tradition to celebrate for the newly born baby that includes preparing a cake after performing the rituals of baptism.

Therefore from the above mentioned details it is clear that a person believing in the rituals of baptism is actually showing his immense faith in the almighty and contributing his life in his name.
