You will be surprised to know that working mothers are more resourceful than non-working mothers, there are some mothers who work full time while there are some who work part time and there are mothers who also work from home to help reduce the expenses of cooking, sending their infants to childcare centers.

If you have resumed work then the need to have a supportive employer is very important, certain professions like teaching are known to be family friendly and today many corporate houses too are trying to develop these family friendly programs in order to attract working mothers and at the same time retain their old employees.

What are the effects on the development of the child where mothers are working?

Research says that there is a vast difference between children brought up at homes and those that are brought at daycare centers as it has been noticed that children brought up in daycare centers are known to be aggressive, anti-social while there are children brought up at daycare centers are more independent than children who have full time home moms.

Though the problems related to the upbringing of a child be it at the home or daycare centers interrelated to circumstances and if you are a single mother then taking care of the finance becomes your main aspect so you have no choice other than sending your child to a daycare center, thus the environment where your child grows up makes a vast difference to the overall development.

If you have decided to resume work after childbirth you need to remember that you have to balance both your home and work successfully so that you can present yourself to your children like an excellent role model. As a mother you can teach your children to not only achieve the goals but to also remain committed to their house and family. As a mother you can also gain respect in the eyes of your son and teach him that men and women are equals when at work and that a women too can achieve goals through sheer hard work and dedication.

There is a total change in the scenario of the house of a working woman as it has been noticed that a working women has to divide her time between work and home take care of her household responsibilities. She also has to see that the household chores are shared by her husband taking into consideration to involve older children to help in the household chores too. This way the children learn to develop an atmosphere of cooperation and support.

Don't feel guilty

Motherhood is a full time job and working mothers are consumed by the guilt of not giving their children ample of time and attention and this guilt feeling is hard to digest but then you need not worry and there are ways where you can minimize the feeling of guilt:

Take the support of friends and family members to take care of your child, you can also request your spouse to baby sit your child, know your limitations so don’t over stress yourself, don’t let negative thoughts or other’s thoughts push you to feel guilty or distress you. Schedule family outings regularly so that you get to spend quality time with your children and keep up to your commitments so that they don’t feel neglected.
